Plans for Group Health Insurance

Health plans with group insurance cover a group of people, typically workers of the firm or members of the organization. Members of group health insurance typically pay less for their coverage because the insurer shares the risk with a larger number of customers. There are two types of group medical insurance: standard off-the-shelf plans and custom plans.

Individual Health Cover

This is a reasonably priced health insurance plan designed primarily for Tanzanian people and families. The costs of care for both inpatients (IP) and outpatients (OP) within the network of healthcare providers will be covered by this insurance plan.

The member will select the kind of insurance coverage that he or she wants to provide to their family: either complete coverage (inpatient and outpatient) or inpatient-only coverage, which will be offered in a variety of options and categories based on the member’s desired limitations.

Global Health Insurance

Strategis provides business executives and expatriates who reside or work in Tanzania with extensive international coverage. Worldwide emergency evacuation is covered, with the exception of the United States and Canada.

Hospitalization Cover

Inpatient coverage pays for hospital admission expenses that are deemed medically essential, such as bed fees, physician and anesthetist bills, operating room fees, pharmacy costs, laboratory costs, and other expenditures spent by an insured member while they are in the hospital. This also covers the cost of CT and MRI scans.

Outpatient Protection
Treatment received outside of a hospital or without an admission or hospitalization is covered by outpatient coverage. Specialist and general consultations, lab work, X-rays, ultrasounds, prescription drugs, and casualty/emergency services are all included.
Foreign Treatment

This category includes inpatient care and the cost of airfare for a member (as well as any accompanying individuals) who have been directed outside of Tanzania for services that are not available there. Typically, referrals are made to India, South Africa, and East Africa. Even in cases where Tanzania offers such care, the member may choose to have this coverage (Elective).
